A big (BIG!) dress round up by request, a fun way to unwind and get creative, the season finale of my life as a mom to school aged kids and saying goodbye to being a brunette!
I hope it’s spring where you are because it’s taken a turn for the worse in the Midwest! As I sat at a tennis tri yesterday in the 35 degree weather (23 with the windchill and some snowflakes falling, yikes!) all I could do was dream about spring break. Our spring break seems a little late this year and I can feel it in my bones, haha! Mama needs a getaway. While I’m over here battling late season winter blues… let’s chat about more fun things and catch up a bit… shall we?

Recent Substack Posts…
I don’t have any new ones this week! I have big plan for next week, yikes! I will send you to the three most popular posts I’ve written here on Substack. If you are new, I hope you enjoy this platform. I know it can be a pain to try a new platform but I just love how slowwwww and relaxing this content is compared to the frenzy of scrolling. I love to scroll still, but lately getting lost in posts on Substack for 15 or 30 minutes feels like such a nice break. It’s my goal to connect with you all here in a way that it’s hard to do on Instagram. I love that it feels like the “old days” when blogs were how we connected and discovered. Stay tuned for a new post from my husband where he is sharing some of his dinner recipes and I’ll be doing a full skincare post (by request!) soon!
6 everyday sneakers I love! Perfect for the busy spring season, these on the go mom approved sneaks are comfy and cute!
10 boring things I order (and re-order) from Amazon! Thank goodness for quick delivery on these household essentials!
10 items I owned in 2024 that I can’t wait to wear in 2025 again! These classics have a permanent spot in my closet!
Recent outfit of the day…
This past week I was MUCH better at documenting my daily outfits. When I asked recently on Instagram Stories about what you all most wanted to see, it was daily outfits. So even on the “blah” days I’m really going to try to share more!
White jeans and a sweater is my favorite early spring outfit combo!
Navy and denim is the ideal combo right now… navy in the spring is always a favorite.
More navy! This time with a barn jacket.
I am pleasantly surprised how much I like these barrel jeans! They are so fun to wear!
And a barn jacket with white jeans. I love this combo!
More white jeans and a sweater! This dreamy cashmere sweater is perfect for spring and affordable too!
Bundling up for tennis! Don’t love that I still need to bundle up, at all!
What’s new on my LTK…
A BIG spring dress round up by request! For graduations, spring weddings, Easter, spring break… you name it! If you need a dress soon, this round up has a perfectly curated selection!
The spring trends I’m loving right now! Your easy cheat sheet for what’s hot right now… (“hot” as in, I’m middle aged and kind of boring but these “trends” will work for my lifestyle and I really like them!)
I’m not a content creator that does huge “hauls” but I did round up some recent purchases into a little try on session and I put them all in one place for you here if you missed it!
And don’t forget I have 4 really great spring break packing lists if you need inspiration for packing for spring trips!
This week’s bestsellers…
What YOU all loved the most this past week!
This striped linen dress! Fits like a dream…
Half driving mocassin, half boat shoes… pure bliss. These shoes are SO comfy!
Another favorite shoe for spring: these ballet flats in woven leather. Chefs kiss!
5 random things…
The most FUN collection of spring new arrivals I have seen so far! I absolutely love all the nautical nods here including tons of stripes, pops of red and some GORGEOUS accessories. And this new denim style “the low slung baggy crop” looks SO good!
I mentioned on Instagram Stories and some of you had already noticed but I’m officially saying goodbye to being a full time brunette. The grey hairs have gotten the best of me and it’s time to shift to more of a “bronde” look. It’s kind of sad. An end of an era! Cue the: “do blondes have more fun” question which I always thought was so silly. But seriously, why are we so emotionally attached to our hair? I recently had what I would say was an extraordinarily good hair day (which seems rare!) and I seriously felt like I was walking on clouds. And I do feel a little sad knowing that I’ll probably never be brunette again. Why do we have so much emotion built into hair?
Last weekend my daughter and I went to one of those pottery painting studios (The Mud Room, if you are local) on a random Sunday morning as a little mother/daughter time. It was SO FUN. It was also packed. Who knew pottery painting was so alive and well? I absolutely loved it and want to do it again soon. I was also surprised how many groups of adults were there - it’s not just for kids birthday parties (although there was one of those there too and it was so adorable to watch the little kids and hear their little conversations while painting). If you need a mental health break or a little creativity moment. I highly recommend trying it!
Have we talked about Severance yet? (on Apple+) OMG. THAT SHOW. I only started watching in February and already caught up to watch the season 2 finale live last week. This show has defined my late winter ;) But seriously, I can’t stop thinking about it!!! And of course, I love listening to the Severance podcast too - if you are a Severance fan you won’t want to miss it. Now I have the biggest post-show hangover.
Speaking of a season finale… that kind of feels like life right now. With my daughters tennis season just starting, senior spring break coming up, some other very annoying “high school-ish” things and her last months of school coming up it seems like this big convergence of ALL THE STORY LINES into one action packed episode. Plus, work has been super busy for both my husband and I, my son is almost half way through college (what?!?) and it won’t stop snowing. I’m trying to actively figure out how to manage this time with grace and to remember to keep it FUN because it’s all good things in the end. But it’s also crazy to think that this season of life as we know it is ending in just a few months and it’s going out with a bang!!!
